A thousand and one questions

What makes up the working day of the senior nurse of the Obukhovsky Health Resort?

The doors of her office are always open, with rare exceptions. They keep coming to her, each with their own questions. And she gives everyone an answer, advice, recommendation. Decides something right away, takes control of something. We are talking about the senior nurse of the polyclinic of the Obukhovsky Health Resort L.N. Serebrennikova. On the eve of the 166th anniversary of the institution, we decided to tell you about it. Lyudmila Nikolaevna has been working here since 1982, and this is her only place of work.

After graduating from the Sukholozhsky medical school, Lyudmila and her friend came to the then-boarding house "Obukhovsky". We worked on sanatorium shifts, while children from Sverdlovsk rested here in autumn and winter.

- The guys came with tutors. Of the treatment, there were physical therapy, an inhaler, a treatment room, a dentist and a physical room. We worked for two months, and at the resort council we were offered a choice of several sanatoriums. It was 1982, and I remember well that this year the sanatorium "Gemstone" was opened for 1024 places. We worked at Samotsvet until winter, then returned to the children's shifts at Obukhovsky. And in March, we were sent to Pyatigorsk for two-month all-Union dietetic courses. There was no information or books before, so it was very interesting to study at the courses. We brought a bunch of scribbled notebooks from Pyatigorsk and then used them for many years, at any question we raised notes and looked at what to do. After the course, we were sent to work in the canteen. We started to develop and implement a customized menu, counting proteins and carbohydrates... There were more than five hundred vacationers at that time.

- It seems to me that I have worked as a nutritionist for half my life, - says Lyudmila Nikolaevna. – Then I went to the polyclinic and worked as a nurse for a year. Director Albert Nikolaevich Makaryan says: "Luda, please accept the polyclinic." I say, "Let me work in the office in peace." "So it's temporary," he assured. I accepted it. So I'm still working.

During her work, L.N. Serebrennikova mastered the work of all medical rooms. He has related specialties with certificates in nursing, physiotherapy, and dietetics.

What does senior nurse's day consist of? He arrives at seven o'clock, checks all the offices in the computer program. He looks at how many people have been accepted, and how many places are available in the morning. At five minutes to eight, the planning meeting, the night shift hands over the duty to the day shift. They analyze the work of the treatment rooms: here it is free, but this room is crowded, pay attention. Then the calls begin. One of the doctors got sick, and he needs to be replaced, someone has some kind of question. The rotation begins - who to put where. There are problems with the equipment, and this issue is also solved through Lyudmila Nikolaevna. And while we're talking, colleagues are coming and going to her office.

- In general, are you like a school coordinator who makes up a schedule and quickly decides who to replace with whom if the teacher is ill? – I generalize.

- Yes, only at school children will be happy if the teacher does not come, but will vacationers be happy if the doctor does not come or some kind of procedure does not take place? Lyudmila Nikolaevna answers. - So we have to move someone somewhere, change something.

In general, it solves a thousand and one questions per working day. Everything related to the medical staff (and the clinic has a staff of 84 people) and medical equipment (there are more than 200 units of medical equipment on the balance sheet) is under the control of a senior nurse. The speed of reaction is probably the main quality that a person in this place should have. Eternal questions and their solutions. The eternal search for frames. Therefore, L.N. Serebrennikova appreciates everyone's work and considers it happiness when someone gets a job at a polyclinic and stays here.

- Lyudmila Nikolaevna is looking for her own approach to everyone in the team. She is a very competent manipulator, she can be tough with some, affectionate with others, more loyal, and this is a very good trait for the boss," says nurse Elena Masharova. - Lyudmila Nikolaevna has a highly developed empathy. You can approach her with any question, not just a work question. She always comes forward.

Sometimes she thinks it's time to leave. And once again there is a situation that solves everything, and again she is in the ranks with the team. Why? She was brought up like that, probably. Therefore, she has been working conscientiously for more than 40 years in one institution, which literally became her second home.

- At first we were young, it was interesting. When Albert Nikolaevich Makaryan took over the boarding house, he created a team. And I considered it a betrayal to go somewhere. I couldn't do that. When Albert Nikolaevich died, I decided to leave, my age allowed. The management was changed, the sanatorium was headed by Ivan Alexandrovich Klementyev. The young ones have come, let them work. I gathered myself mentally and mentally. And then covid, the discovery of the observatory. (From April to September 2020, an observatory for 330 places was deployed on the basis of the sanatorium for medical supervision of citizens arriving from areas disadvantaged by the new coronavirus infection. During the period of operation of the unit, a total of 1,901 people were under medical supervision. – Approx. editorial offices). The question arose who would stay to work. Ivan Alexandrovich asked: "Lyudmila Nikolaevna, at least you won't leave us?" I replied that I would not leave my own. And how will I agitate the team to work at the observatory if I don't go there myself?

- The scariest thing during covid was the unknown. What kind of infection is this, how will it behave, will we cope with it? Lyudmila Nikolaevna recalls. - The first patients – construction workers - arrived from the Murmansk region. With difficulty, we got two chemical protection suits. That's just to get on the bus and take them. There were no recommendations. We were behind double screens here at the observatory. The leaders were with us. They helped as much as they could. And we persevered. During this time, everyone showed themselves, someone never entered the observatory, someone worked all shifts. And after the observatory, another team formed. And we trusted the leaders, we worked together. And so it is still.

- Lyudmila Nikolaevna is a reliable and strong employee, gives her best at work and stimulates colleagues by her example. It perfectly combines critical thinking and a positive attitude. Teamwork is needed to achieve a common goal, and Lyudmila Nikolaevna is an excellent leader who leads the team. This was especially evident during the work of the observatory on the basis of our institution in 2000. Colleagues can look up to her, you can turn to her for any help, and we really appreciate her for this," said I.A. Klementyev, director of the regional specialized center for medical rehabilitation Obukhovsky Sanatorium.

Lyudmila Serebrennikova is from the village of Re-Yurmytskoye, Talitsky district. My parents worked on a state farm, and there was also a large farm at home.

- Everything was based on us, on the children, I am the youngest, there are two more brothers. We are grateful to our parents for instilling in us a love for work, for work," says Lyudmila Nikolaevna. - It seems to me that we went to work as soon as we were born, and we are still working like this. I'm looking at how children are being raised, they don't know where to put them, what to do with them. If we have a free evening, it was a holiday. You get up in the morning, they already give you the flowers: weeding the beds, doing housework, and how many cattle they kept, there were only so many ducks! We were busy all summer from morning to evening, no one put us anywhere. Grandma was with us, but we were never taken care of, somehow we immediately became adults. IF ANYTHING, THE ITALICS CAN BE SHORTENED.

In the office of the head nurse there is a wall clock with a clockwork mechanism. Once every three days, she opens the door of the watch, takes the key and starts it. Every hour they hit a certain number of beats, measuring the time. Hour after hour. Year after year... Lyudmila Nikolaevna has been working at Obukhovsky since 1982. Several statuses of the institution have changed, four directors, new buildings have appeared, and fir trees have grown... Is it interesting to be a part of all this and live in this special rhythm?

- Of course, it's interesting, - says Lyudmila Nikolaevna.

And at the same moment, a nurse enters the office once again with a new question that needs to be urgently addressed. Life goes on, there is another issue on the agenda.
